Preliminary exercise: Continuity Task

involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialougue.

This task should demonstrate:

-Match On Action

-Shot/Reverse Shot

-180 Degree Rule

180 Degree Rule

Within Media then the 180 degree rule is basically where there are two characters in the same scene should always have the same left/right relaionship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two characters, it would be called crossing the line. The new shot, from the opposite side, is known as a reverse angle.

My Work

For my main task for this then i am going to be doing a film, i have decided to do a film other than a magazine because i feel like it could be more interesting and my type of thing to do. I have decided that i am going to do a film with Nicole Fairman and we are going to bring some ideas together to try and bring a really good idea to a film that we hope will be really good.
